Do you have a personal hero, someone you admire and want to emulate? Why do admire them? Are they making the world better for those around them? Do you ask yourself how you can do the same or have the same impact? Becoming your own hero is how you change your life and making the difference to the people around you.
Fake it Until You Make it
Fake it until you make it doesn’t mean being a fake person or laying on a fake persona. What it does mean is pretending to be the person you want to be until you actually become that person. It is about changing your mindset. There have been plenty of studies done that show when you act as if you are something you will begin to take on those characteristics. Pretend you are your own hero until you are that person.
Making a Change
Sometime it is a job or it could be a relationship that you want to change. Believing that you can’t make the change is a self-fulfilling prophecy and it will leave you unhappy. Stepping up and being your own hero means taking the initiative and finding within yourself to make the changes happen until you are successful. Only you can take the action you need to make the changes you want.
There are plenty of times in life where you don’t know what to do. Think about your own heroes and what they would do in your situation. The more you practice this the better you will become. Soon you will know what to do and what steps you need to take to resolve your issues. That doesn’t mean taking action will be easy but you will have more confidence in your ability to solve problems. You will find yourself more comfortable taking risks and being far less complacent.
One of the things that define a hero is their resolve and overcoming challenges. A hero doesn’t see problems but rather as a challenge to learn what you’re made of and the ability to push yourself to do more than you thought you were capable of. One of the biggest difference between people who succeed and those that don’t is confidence. We all can find it difficult from time to time to find the motivation or confidence needed to continue. This is where surrounding yourself with people who believe in you is important.
Be the hero that you need to be in order to embrace the life you deserve.
